Kimmi Ascanio is an American footballer who plays as a midfielder. She has represented the United States throughout its youth national-team pathway.

Her parents were born and raised in Venezuela, her father in Caracas and her mother in Valencia.

She was signed by the Wave at the age of 16 in 2024.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Ascanio uses her bilingual skills to connect with diverse teammates and fans, making her an ambassador for multicultural representation in soccer.

Kimmi was the youngest member of the national under-17 squad at the 2024 CONCACAF Women's U-17 Championship, where she scored a hat trick in six minutes in their 7–1 semifinal win over Haiti and added another goal in the final to help beat Mexico 4–0.

She made her first start and recorded her first assist in a 2–1 win against Bay FC on April 27, making her the third-youngest goal contributor in NWSL history.

Football or soccer has always been a big passion for the whole family, her father and brother are big fans of FC Barcelona so the atmosphere during El Clasico is a bit tense.

Kimmi is a Real Madrid FC fan.
