Alexa Tlalli Huerta Vega is an American proffesional footballer who plays as a midfielder.
Huerta was born in Pasadena, California, but grew up in Austin, Texas.
She is the daughter of Abel Huerta and Amalia Vega and has three siblings: Alex, Alan, and Amy.
Athleticism runs in her family; her brother, Alan Huerta, played professional soccer for Atlante FC in Mexico.
Huerta attended the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders in Austin, where she was a four-year starter and earned district midfield MVP honors as a junior.
She was an AP Scholar and a member of the National Honors Society during her high school years.
While at Houston Christian University, she majored in sport management.
She is a devout Christian and has stated that HCU helped strengthen her faith and walk with God.
Huerta became only the second women's soccer player from Houston Christian University to sign a professional contract.
