Nayeli Diaz is a Mexican proffesional footballer who plays as a midfielder. She has represented Mexiko on international level.
Diaz was born in Mexico City but was raised in Hacienda Heights, California.
She initially pursued dance from ages 7 to 10 before deciding she wanted to do "something a little more active" and switching to soccer at age 11.
She credits her "restless" excitement before her first ever soccer game as the feeling she returns to whenever she has a bad match.
During high school, she attended Bishop Amat Memorial in La Puente, California, where she served as team captain and led her squad to three consecutive league championships.
She was a member of the Mexico squad that finished as runners-up at the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Uruguay.
She was named a WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention during her sophomore year in 2020.
Diaz made her senior international debut for Mexico in June 2021 during a friendly against Japan.
