Laura Høgh Faurskov is a Danish professional footballer who plays as a forward. She represented Denmark at youth international level.
Laura's biggest football dream since childhood has been to play for the Denmark senior national team. She first shared that ambition while she was still a teenager with KoldingQ and says it has motivated her throughout her career.
She made her senior debut in Denmark's top division as a teenager with Kolding IF, where she spent more than four years developing before moving to AGF.
As a youth player, she trained seven times a week, often structuring her entire day around football. She admitted there was little time left for friends or family during the season because football came first.
Her football hero growing up was Lionel Messi, while her biggest inspiration in women's football was Denmark international Katrine Veje, who plays the same left-sided position.
Laura pays close attention to nutrition. As a teenager preparing for elite football, she described a typical day that included yoghurt with oats for breakfast, fruit and a muesli bar as snacks, sandwiches or pasta with chicken for lunch, eggs before training and plenty of water.
Laura says one of the hardest sacrifices of pursuing elite football was missing family dinners and social events, but she accepted it because she loved the game and wanted to become the best player she could be.
