Mali was born in Tynset, Norway, where she also began her senior football career before progressing to larger clubs.
Before moving abroad, she scored 90 goals in 163 senior matches, an impressive strike rate built across several levels of Norwegian football.
Besides outdoor football, Mali has represented Norway's senior women's futsal team, showing her versatility across both formats of the game.
Before leaving Norway, Mali said moving abroad had been a long-term dream, and she thanked everyone at Tromsø for helping her become ready for the next step in her career.
Mali helped organize the 2019 Norwegian Cross-Country Ski Championships in Tynset, serving as an assistant race director ("assisterende rennleder") during the event.
Away from football, Mali enjoys spending time in the mountains and has shared several photos from skiing trips and other winter adventures.
Trøan played more than 100 matches and scored almost 80 goals for Tromsø.
