Leilane Alves de Castro Soares is a Brazilian goalkeeper who has represented Brazil at U17 level and has played for Iranduba and Ferroviária.
Leilane started playing football when she was five years old.
Leilane plays as a goalkeeper and is right-footed.
She played for Brazil at the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
Before joining Cruzeiro, she spent several years in the Ferroviária system, including the club’s U20 side.
Leilane previously played in youth football with Iranduba.
In January 2025, Cruzeiro confirmed that she suffered a partial injury to the medial collateral ligament in her right knee.
Leilane has been part of Brazil’s youth national-team setup with eight youth international appearances.
She originally played as a striker before becoming a goalkeeper. In a FIFA interview, she joked: “I was a forward, but my God, I was terrible.”
