Carina “Laura” Felipe Silva is a Uruguayan footballer who plays as a right back. She has represented Uruguay at U17, U20 and senior international level.
She has said that as a child she preferred football to dolls and would remove the heads from dolls so she could use them while playing football games.
One of her older brothers took her to train at Sur 2000 when she was six years old because she spent her days playing football in the street.
Laura played youth football in boys’ teams in Uruguay before establishing herself in the women’s game.
She joined Nacional after being recommended by coach Álvaro Gutiérrez and was signed on her very first training day.
She is the sister of Uruguayan professional footballer Sergio Felipe.
She represented Uruguay at the 2012 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Azerbaijan.
