Madison Mercado is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Seattle Reign FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). She played college soccer for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish before being selected by the Reign in the second round of the 2024 NWSL Draft.
She represented the U.S. from U-14 to U-19 levels, including winning the 2016 CONCACAF U-15 Championship, where she scored two goals in the quarterfinal.
Her parents were both collegiate tennis players – her mom went pro.
Her older brother, Michael Mercado, is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies.
She says her family is extremely competitive, especially during Monopoly game nights.
She comes from San Diego.
Beyond the pitch, Maddie is passionate about supporting young female athletes. She serves as a mentor with Female Footballers, an organization dedicated to providing guidance on the mental aspects of the game.
She has graduated from the University of Notre Dame.
