Van Bentum joined AZ after the club took over the women’s football structure previously associated with VV Alkmaar.
During her early breakthrough season with AZ, she appeared in 13 of the club’s first 16 Eredivisie matches.
In March 2024, Van Bentum signed her first professional contract with AZ, committing to the club until mid-2027.
AZ technical manager and former Netherlands international Stefanie van der Gragt described her as “a young, very talented midfielder” when announcing her contract extension.
Her personal goal at AZ is to become a consistent regular in the first team as the club continues developing in the Eredivisie Vrouwen.
