Casey Krueger

She missed the 2022 season due to pregnancy. Her son, Caleb, was born in July of 2022.

She says deciding to have a child was difficult as she didn't know if she would return to playing professionally.

She says becoming a mother has given her perspective and changed her as a player. She now feels she can play more freely.

She has earned a record number of appearances in the NWSL’s Best XI of the Month since the award's creation in 2017, with 14 recognitions.

For her cheat meal, she would choose Cajun pasta with spicy sausage and keeps it simple with water. For dessert, she loves ice-cream.

Early in her career, while recovering from an injury, Krueger worked as a leasing agent. She likes the role and embraced her competitive side by aiming to meet all company goals.

She has a Goldendoodle named Frederick, nicknamed “Freddy Krueger.” He is very loving and needy and is very patient with her son.

She tore her ACL in college, then tore her other ACL shortly after getting drafted to play professionally. It was before going to Norway that she wasn't sure if she would be able to play again.

She says playing in Norway was a life-changing experience for her, allowing her to fall in love with the game again.

A football player she admires the most is Marcelo, especially for his creative style, joy and his freedom as a left back who often plays more like a forward.

She loves The Lumineers and says that seeing them in concert was one of her favorite experiences.

She also enjoys The Weeknd and frequently listens to worship music, with Elevation Worship being a top pick on her Spotify.

Her favorite post-game meal is pizza or sweet potato fries.

Her perfect off day starts with a slow morning and a coffee, then a hike or walk outside and a movie at night.

She ran track and won three state championships: two in the 800m run and one in the 400m dash.

She has a bachelor's degree in Criminology with a minor in Sociology from Florida States University.

She also earned a master's degree in Sports Management.

She got married to Cody Krueger in 2020. He is emergency medicine physician.

She is Christian.
