Gisele Olivia Thompson is an American professional soccer player who plays as a right back for Angel City FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and the United States national team.
Her one year older sister Alyssa also plays for Angel City. They have a younger sister Zoe who also plays soccer.
Her first pro goal (May 2, 2025) was assisted by her sister—the first sister-to-sister goal in NWSL history.
She began training with boys’ teams at age 8, joining Total Futbol Academy with her sister.
She played in the United Women's Soccer league (a semi-pro league) while still in high school.
She featured in Netflix’s “Family Switch” with her sister—both made cameo appearances.
Together with her sister, they are the first high school athletes in the U.S. to sign an NIL deal with Nike.
She is of African-American, Filipino, and Peruvian descent.
She also ran track when she was younger.
Gisele’s favorite childhood dish was her grandma’s bistec apanado (breaded steak).
She is an avid baker: famous in the family for her chocolate chip cookies and baking chocolate cakes for her grandpa.
