Did You Know?

She started practicing football indoors as a child after the 2011 Fukushima earthquake made it unsafe to play outside, which helped her develop excellent ball control in tight spaces.
She is the youngest of four siblings and grew up in a close-knit family in Shirakawa, Fukushima.
She started playing football at the age of two, and her father, who was a coach, was the one who began teaching her and her siblings.
She was inspired to pursue football seriously after watching Japan win the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup when she was just 11 years old.
As a child, she was bullied by other youth players who believed people from Fukushima were “contaminated” due to the nuclear disaster.
She joined Angel City FC in their inaugural NWSL season and made an immediate impact by assisting the first goal and scoring the second in the club’s first-ever regular season match.
She tore her ACL at a 2024 pre-season training.
She is known for her pink hair and fashion sense; embraces individuality and creativity both on and off the field.
She has two dogs.
