At club level, Cristiane is a true global journeyman, having played in top-tier leagues across Germany (Turbine Potsdam, Wolfsburg), Sweden (Linköping), the United States (Chicago Red Stars), Russia (Rossiyanka), China (Changchun), and France (Paris Saint-Germain).

During the 2019 World Cup in France, she became the oldest player to score a hat-trick in a Women's World Cup match (at 34 years and 25 days) during Brazil's 3–0 win against Jamaica.

Off the pitch, she is married to Ana Paula Garcia and became a mother to their son, Bento, in 2021. She frequently utilizes her platform to champion LGBTQ+ visibility and rights within international sports.
