Emma played for Penn Fusion Soccer Academy for 14 years before beginning her college career.

Her favourite professional player is Cristiano Ronaldo, whose speed and skill when driving forward were a major part of the appeal for her.

Emma has two dogs named Phineas and Chester.

She initially planned to study biological sciences, with her mother's breast-cancer diagnosis helping spark an interest in genetics and disease research.

She later completed a bachelor's degree in psychology at Virginia Tech and has spoken about pursuing further study and a future career in sports psychology after football.
