Mathilde Carstens

Mathilde Carstens has a twin sister, Signe Carstens, who is also a professional footballer, the sisters have played together at Fortuna Hjørring, Celtic and Brøndby.

Carstens joined AaB in 2013, initially playing on the club's newly established U14 side while also being involved with its talent programme.

At just 15, she was invited to join Denmark's older U16 group for the 2017 Nordic Cup in Finland, where Denmark faced Norway, the Netherlands and Germany.

In 2019, Carstens was already combining school, family time and regular football commitments while playing for Fortuna Hjørring's U18 side and appearing around the senior team.

Carstens joined Brøndby in July 2025 after her Celtic contract expired and was given shirt number 7.
