Vanessa Karungi

She began playing football in 2013 while in Senior Two at Kyebambe Girls Secondary School, initially choosing goalkeeping because she felt she was too slow to run around the pitch.

She studied for a Bachelor of Business Administration at Makerere University Business School and became the first female footballer to receive MUBS's Excelling Sports Personalities scholarship.

Her route to Denmark began when B.93 goalkeeper coach and scout Frank Petersen watched a She Corporate match on Facebook and later travelled to Uganda to assess her in person.

Karungi also won the inaugural FUFA Women's Cup with Olila High School in 2017, receiving the tournament's Best Goalkeeper award.

She moved from Uganda to Denmark in May 2021, joining B.93 from She Corporate.

Karungi spent three seasons with FC Nordsjælland before joining Brøndby in July 2026.
