Jana Alexandra Gutiérrez Campos is a Mexican footballer who plays as a midfielder. She has represented Mexico at U-17 and U-20 level.
She made her professional debut at just 14 year old, highlighting her early development and trust from coaches.
Jana comes from a football family. Her father is former pro Miguel “Jalisco” Gutiérrez, and her sister Jaidy also played with her at América before continuing her career in the U.S.
Football nearly had serious competition from dance. Jana has said that if she had not become a footballer, she would have wanted to be a dancer, and she once dreamed of ballet.
She made history in fashion media too. Espartanas reported that she became the first Mexican footballer and only the second footballer worldwide to appear in GQ.
She started out playing with boys and dealt with gender bias early on. She recalled that teammates sometimes would not pass her the ball even when she was free in front of goal.
