Valentina Murrieta Ortiz is a Mexican goalkeeper who has represented her country at youth international level.

Did You Know?

She began playing football at five years old in her native Alvarado, Veracruz.

Her father played as an amateur goalkeeper and became both her inspiration and her “greatest teacher” in the position.

Her teammates know her simply as “Vale.”

Her childhood goalkeeping idols were Guillermo Ochoa and Blanca Félix—even though they represented rival sides América and Guadalajara.

She sees much of her determined personality in her mother, who taught her never to give up.

As a child, she was told that football was for boys, but the support of her parents helped her stay in the game.

Her favourite childhood cartoon was Pucca and Garu. She admired Pucca because the character was strong and refused to surrender when things became difficult.
