Kyra Taylor Carusa is an American professional football player who plays as a forward for San Diego Wave FC and Republic of Ireland national team.
Kyra was born and raised in the North County area of San Diego, California, alongside her mother Nicole, father Richard, and siblings Scott, Kelley, and Jordan.
Eligible to play for the Republic of Ireland through her Irish grandparents. Carusa began the process of applying for Irish citizenship as a graduate student at Georgetown, therefore she represents Ireland on international level.
Shortly before her freshman season, Carusa tore her ACL and was forced to redshirt for the year.
She graduated with a degree in Human biology.
Carusa scored her first international goal on November 30, 2023, in a FIFA Women's World Cup qualification match against Georgia.
She is a big fan of golf.
Nothing means more to her then her family that whose support made a big diffrence for her.
Kyra Carusa is actively involved in professional community activities, using her platform as a professional soccer player to give back and make a positive impact.
During national girls & women in sports day she visited her middle school, trying to inspire young athletes, foster community spirit and advocate for inclusivity and growth in the sport.
Whenever she's off the pitch, she spends her free time actively, trying out new thing and activities.
Kyra definitely is a dog person.
Travelling and spending time with a friends and loved ones is what she enjoys the most (apart from football).
