Maricarmen Reyes Zárate is a Mexican midfielder who represents the Mexico national team at the senior level and has won four major titles across her club and collegiate career.
Her two older brothers, Jorge and Oscar, played professional soccer.
She scored the legendary game-winning goal in overtime of the 2022 NCAA National Championship, securing UCLA’s second-ever title.
She speaks fluent Spanish, which helped her transition smoothly from California to playing professionally in Mexico.
She earned an undergraduate degree in sociology from UCLA before enrolling in the School of Education.
