Natalia Muñoz González is a Mexican footballer who plays as a central defender. She has represented Mexico at youth international levels.
Her nickname is "Yaya."
Football was already part of family gatherings when she was little. Her grandfather and uncles played, and she would jump into games with her older uncles at family parties.
Her parents put her into organised football when she was young, but there was one problem: she did not enjoy training, she just wanted to play matches.
She moved away from home to Baja California at just 12 years old to pursue football. Being away became especially difficult around Christmas and New Year, when the distance from her family really sank in.
She has an adventurous streak. Natalia summed it up simply as liking “extreme” things, which was one reason she enjoyed experimenting as a goalkeeper.
