Sara Olai

Sara made her senior debut at just 14 years old, appearing for Borens IK in the Swedish Cup.

Her move to Halifax Tides FC in 2025 made her part of the inaugural Northern Super League season — the first season of Canada's new professional women's league.

Sara is also pursuing a career away from football - she has been studying the law programme at Stockholm University since 2023.

Before becoming a full-time professional footballer, Sara had to combine football with a full-time job. In 2020, she was working in the marketing department of Uppsala Nya Tidning while playing for IK Uppsala.

She was named Elitettan's best defender in 2019, after scoring seven goals as an attacking full-back.

Her move to Canada in 2025 was her first experience playing abroad. Before joining Halifax, her entire senior club career had been in Sweden.

Sara enjoys winter activities like skiing, snowboarding.
