Tayla Carolina Pereira dos Santos is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a defender. She has represented Brazil at both U20 and senior international level.
Her first senior Brazil call-up came in November 2013 for a friendly against the United States.
Her mother and especially her grandmother were the biggest supporters of her football dream when she was young.
Leadership is one of the qualities she most associates with her game, describing herself as a defender who tries to guide teammates in a calm and assertive way.
A 2015 injury forced Tayla out of Brazil’s Pan American Games squad, but she fought her way back into the national team three years later.
Tayla and Bruna Benites formed Brazil's central-defensive partnership nicknamed the “Twin Towers.”
