Manchester United will play in the Champions League for the first time

Thanks to Elisabeth Terland's hattrick, the Red Devils managed to turn the game around against Brann and will play in the Champions League for the first time.

  • Manchester United Women defeated SK Brann 3-0 in the second leg of the final qualifying round, overturning a 1-0 first-leg deficit to win 3-1 on aggregate and reach the UWCL league phase for the first time.
  • Elisabeth Terland scored a hat-trick in that match: the first from a loose ball after a cross, the second a header from a corner, and the third finishing coolly after a through ball.
  • The opening goal came around nine minutes in; the second followed about four minutes later. Her third was in the 62nd minute.
  • Brann’s keeper Selma Panengstuen made several good saves, including against Fridolina Rolfö and Ella Toone, limiting the damage despite United’s dominant display.
  • United’s appearance in the league phase marks a milestone, ensuring they will compete among Europe’s elite clubs in the Women’s Champions League season ahead.
