Abigail Lynn Dahlkemper is an American professional football player who plays as a center back for Bay FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and the United States national team.

Did You Know?

She married MLS football player Aaron Schoenfeld in January 2021.
She underwent serious back surgery (TLIF) in 2022 but made a strong comeback in 2023, earning a Best XI of the Month honor right away.
In 2019, she posed in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, alongside Rapinoe, Dunn, and Morgan.
She organized football fund raisers to help provide shoes for children in Africa.
She graduated from the University of California with a degree in Sociology.
Her jersey number 13 isn’t random. She was born on the 13th and considers it her lucky number.
When she’s not playing, Abby finds peace in the outdoors. She loves hiking and being in nature, calling it her way of decompressing from the demands of professional football.
Her mom, Susan, was a passionate basketball player. Abby credits her mental toughness and drive to values passed down from her mother’s sports journey.
She was deeply influenced by the U.S. Women’s National Team of the ‘90s, particularly icons like Mia Hamm, Michelle Akers, and Abby Wambach. The 1999 World Cup documentary played a key role in shaping her dreams.
If she weren’t a pro football player, she says she’d probably be a trendy LA hair stylist or travel photographer, maybe shooting surfers in tropical places.
She has a cockapoo named Bobby.
