Lucy Newell

Newell played at three consecutive major youth European Championships: the 2023 U17 EURO and the 2024 and 2025 U19 EUROs.

In the 2022/23 season, Newell completed a remarkable awards double at West Bromwich Albion, winning both the Women’s Players’ Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season awards.

Her first Manchester United contract came with particularly memorable timing: Newell turned 18 and became a professional footballer on the same day, signing her first professional deal on October 2, 2024.

At just 11 years old, Newell organised a charity cake sale at her Shrewsbury home that raised £353 for Age UK, inspired by her grandmother, who had dementia and loved baking.
