Nina Dominique Nicosia is a U.S.-born footballer who plays as a forward and has represented Argentina at youth and senior level.
She is the daughter of former professional footballer Gustavo Nicosia.
She first started playing at six, then quit around age 10 because she was no longer enjoying it. The moment that pulled her back in was wonderfully simple: a coach called about forming a girls’ team, her younger sister was mentioned, and Nina decided she wanted the new cleats too.
She had to come through a major ACL injury as a teenager and was sidelined for 10 months.
Her mother’s side of the family is Mexican, and she has said that background helped her adapt to life in Mexico. She also said her Spanish improved a lot after arriving in Pachuca.
Her favorite footballers have been Lionel Messi and Alex Morgan.
