Samantha Steuerwald is a German footballer who plays as a defender for 1. FC Union Berlin in the Frauen-Bundesliga.
She began her football career at age 5 with Bramfelder SV.
During her childhood she also played indoor soccer and participated in track and field.
Steuerwald started her career as a striker in Wolfsburg and Bremen - she was only converted to a defender in Freiburg during the first season.
The best advice she’s ever received came from her mom: “Always listen to your heart.”
She enjoys unwinding in nature, whether it’s with a picnic or a good book.
If she could be anyone/anything else for a day, she would be a bird.
