Tomke Schneider is a German footballer who plays as a defender for 1. FC Union Berlin in the Frauen-Bundesliga and the youth Germany national team.
Tome came through SV Viktoria Aschaffenburg youth (played in boys’ junior teams there) before moving to Eintracht Frankfurt’s youth.
Tome has represented Germany at multiple junior levels and she is said to be one of the best defenders of her age group.
Schneider was part of the German squad that played at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2024 in Colombia.
She suffered a serious knee injury (cruciate-ligament) in 2021 and missed almost the entire 2021/22 season. She underwent surgery and later staged a comeback the following season.
After completing her Fachabitu, Tomke planned to start an apprenticeship as a carpenter (Schreinerin).
She first started playing football at the age of four, when her mother signed her up for a summer holiday soccer program to keep the kids active. Tomke enjoyed it so much that she soon joined a boys’ team and began her journey in the sport.
