Tanja Pawollek is a Polish footballer who plays as a midfielder for 1. FC Union Berlin in the Frauen-Bundesliga and the Poland national team.
Though Tanja was born in Germany, her parents are of Polish origin. She represented Germany at youth international level, later switched to Poland senior national team.
Tanja has two sisters. When she was injured, she liked spending time with her sister's children.
She spent nine years at Eintracht Frankfurt, where she captained the team from 2019 and made a significant impact on the club’s success.
Pawollek started her club career at the age of 5 at TV Hausen.
She drinks capuccino with oat milk.
Despite suffering two ACL injuries – in the 2021 DFB Cup final and the UEFA Women’s Champions League group match against Barcelona in 2024 – Pawollek has scored 25 goals as a defensive midfielder or centre-back in nearly 200 competitive appearances for Eintracht, 153 of them in the Bundesliga.
Tanja loves sushi.
In her opionion (as for 2022ú the best players playing at her position are Joshua Kimmich and Lena Obendorf.
Her favourite travel destination are the islands of Greece.
Her favourite meal is the one her mom cooks - dumplings, red cabbage and roast.
When she was younger she looked up to Ronaldinho.
Apart from football, she enjoys playing squash or basketball.
As a kid, her dream job was to become a hairdresser.
