Korina Lara Janež is a Slovenian footballer who plays as a midfielder for 1. FC Union Berlin in the Frauen-Bundesliga and the Slovenia national team.

Janez started judo at the age of six and took part in several national competitions for her school. In 2013 and 2014, she became national champion in her age group; most recently, she was a blue belt.

Korina won the Slovenian U-17 national championship in 2020 and 2021, top scorer in the youth league during the 2020/21 season.

She made her first-team debut at 16, scoring five goals in eight appearances.

Janez has already played with Fatma Sakar, her current teammate, in Leipzig where they both celebrated promotion to the Bundesliga. Girls have a strong bond between them.

Korina moved to Germany from her family and friends when she was 18 years old - she had to adapt to new culture, language. Right now she is fluent in both German and Slovenian.

Korina started playing football at a young age with boys after school.

Korina is passionate about fashion - sometimes, she likes to dress more elegantly, nicely, and in an Italian style. Then she tries to merge some modern fashion, like oversize and baggy clothes.

She enjoys a good cup of coffee.
