Athanasia Moraitou is a German-Greek footballer who plays as a midfielder for 1. FC Union Berlin in the Frauen-Bundesliga and the Greece national team.
Born in Germany, she represents Greece at international level.
Moraitou began playing football at the age of five in her birthplace, at the local FSV Waiblingen.
Athanasia played NCAA football for University of South Alabama (South Alabama Jaguars) in 2019–2020 - strong season, Sun Belt honours and listed as a graduate student on the roster.
Athanasia studied at Schickhardt-Gymnasium.
She succesfully finished postgraduate business studies.
She is fluent both in English and German.
Athanasia, also known as Nasi, has been part of the DKSA's (Deutsche Kinder Sport Akademie) administrative team since January 2021 and provides support there.
One of her idols is Lionel Messi.
Athanasia is definitely a dog lover.
She wouldn't say no to a good cup of coffee.
