Danielle Cox

Much of her childhood was spent playing football and other sports with her brothers in the street and the family garden.

She began her career as a midfielder before a coach converted her into a defender because of her composure on the ball and passing range.

One of her favourite off-field activities is trying dishes she has never eaten before.

She hopes to use her experience to inspire the next generation of girls and create more opportunities within local communities.

The unusual number 73 has no hidden personal meaning: she chose a high number after noticing similar choices in Italian and Spanish football and then decided to keep it.
