Jóhanna Fossdalsá Sørensen is a Danish midfielder who plays for BK Häcken in Sweden’s Damallsvenskan, and for the Denmark senior national team.
She was born in Hoyvík in the Faroe Islands, and later moved with her family to Denmark in 2018.
Her older brother, Heini Sørensen, is also a professional footballer.
She likes to play the piano.
In September 2025, she suffered an ACL injury.
She grew up watching the UEFA Champions League, then re-enacted Champions League matches during school breaks and “picked players” to pretend to be.
She started playing football at around age four, and said she basically “had no choice” because her dad coached and her big brother was football-mad.
