Lauryn Thompson is an English-American footballer who plays as a forward. She has represented England at youth level.
She is eligible to represent both England and the United States and spent time in the U.S. youth national-team system before choosing England at youth level.
At the 2023 USL Academy Cup, the 15-year-old Thompson scored twice in three games and was named the U19 Girls Elite Young Player of the Tournament.
Her first professional NWSL goal made history: at 18, Thompson became the youngest player ever to score for North Carolina Courage in an NWSL regular-season match.
Her first professional goal was assisted by fellow England youth international Erica Meg Parkinson, producing only the third teenager-to-teenager goal in NWSL history.
Injuries have repeatedly disrupted Thompson’s young career: she was injured at the 2024 U17 World Cup, withdrew from an England U20 camp through injury in June 2026 and later missed the 2026 U20 World Cup while managing another return from injury.
