Marion Véronique Torrent is a French defender who plays for and captains Montpellier HSC in the Arkema Première Ligue. She has also played for the France senior national team.
She says her family “loves the ball”: her father played football, and her older brother played at a good level.
She started out playing for the boys’ team at Luynes.
She says she was spotted at a training session where scouts were originally there to watch the boys.
She joined Montpellier because, at the time, it was one of the only clubs in the south with a girls’ sport-study setup and a real women’s training structure.
She says the 1998 World Cup was a trigger that pushed her toward football.
She earned a coaching diploma.
Her partner is former American-football player Sandy Marcin.
In July 2025 she became a mother to a baby girl named Khalissia, and started working on her comeback the same year.
