Ceylin Yilmaz

She has Turkish roots - both of her parents were born in Turkey before moving to France as young children.

Her father was a goalkeeper at the amateur level and coached at her first club, which helped spark her love for the position.

She started out playing football with boys because her friends played — and she asked to join in too.

Before committing to goalkeeping, she also played outfield and enjoyed being involved in the game all over the pitch.

The responsibility of being the last defender is one of her favourite parts of goalkeeping. Making a decisive save is what pushes her to improve.

In July 2026, she became the first female player developed by AS Montréal-la-Cluse to sign a professional football contract.
