Ewelina Kamczyk is a Polish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder or wing-back for FC Fleury 91 in France’s Première Ligue and the Poland women’s national team.
From as far back as she can remember she was kicking a ball, spending most of her time playing football with her older brother and her dad and always having a ball with her on holidays.
She’s the Poland national-team DJ and handles their playlist.
She has spoken openly about depression and almost quitting football during her final year at Górnik Łęczna.
She idolised Cristiano Ronaldo since childhood.
Among women’s players she cites Ramona Bachmann and Polish striker Patrycja Wiśniewska, who made a big impression on her when they were teammates.
Her mum once tried to steer her away from football by enrolling her in dance classes and avoiding watching matches.
She releases her own music on YouTube.
Living in France she jokes that she has a bit of a “loner’s life,” and says her favourite ways to unwind include playing Counter-Strike online with friends.
She also likes taking her dog for long walks and collapsing on the couch to binge films (especially Christmas movies).
