Sara Stokić

Sara is from Smederevo, a historic city on the banks of the Danube in eastern Serbia.

She attended Dimitrije Davidović Elementary School before continuing her education at Tenth Belgrade High School and later Jovan Jovanović Zmaj Gymnasium, balancing football with school from an early age.

She started her football journey with Sloga Zemun, where she developed into one of Serbia's brightest young attacking talents.

Stokić has represented Serbia at every major youth level before breaking into the senior national team while still a teenager. Stokić scored on her first start for Serbia's senior national team, helping her country defeat Bosnia and Herzegovina 4–1 in the UEFA Women's EURO qualifying play-offs.

In 2024 she became the first-ever recipient of the Serbian Football Association's newly established award for the country's Most Promising Women's Player, recognising her rapid development and international potential.

Before focusing fully on football, she trained athletics for several years. The speed and explosiveness she developed in track and field later became important assets in her game as a winger.

It was actually her aunt who took her to her first football training session after noticing how much she enjoyed playing. Sara had hoped her parents would recognize her passion on their own, but it was her aunt who finally made it happen.

Away from football, she enjoys watching the UEFA Women's Champions League—especially Barcelona—as well as the English Premier League. She says she actually watches more women's football than men's football.
