Chanté-Mary Dompig is a Dutch-born footballer who plays as a forward. She represented the Netherlands at U23 level before making her senior international debut for Suriname.

Did You Know?

Born in the Netherlands, Dompig is of Surinamese descent and later chose to represent Suriname at senior international level, scoring on her debut.

She didn't start playing organised football until she was 13 years old, much later than many elite players. Within three years she had already earned a move to VV Alkmaar after impressing scouts at a KNVB talent event.

Chanté wants to become a role model for young girls, especially those from multicultural backgrounds. She has worked with her former school in Amsterdam and hopes to inspire children to believe that their dreams are achievable regardless of where they come from.

Chanté's parents are her biggest role models. She says her father, a former martial arts athlete, taught her perseverance and, just as importantly, never to forget that football should remain fun. Her mother inspires her through her work ethic and resilience.

Prayer has become an important part of her routine, especially after suffering her ACL injury. She says it gives her strength during difficult moments and helps her stay mentally balanced.

Chanté openly embraces her appearance and has spoken candidly about living with acne. Rather than hiding it, she now sees it as part of her identity and says feeling confident in herself helps her perform better on the pitch.
