Before becoming a professional, Martínez was a Rayados supporter and used to go regularly to matches at Estadio BBVA.
Her story began at Club Infantil Botafogo, where she was given the chance to join as the only girl on the team.
She once had a scholarship lined up in the United States to study dentistry, but the creation of Liga MX Femenil changed her plans and she chose football instead.
She feels like the “grandma of Liga MX Femenil” because she has been in the league so long.
She named Humberto “Chupete” Suazo as her number-one Rayados idol from childhood, and said she even copied the way he celebrated goals.
Lionel Messi was the player who inspired her to become a professional, and she spent countless hours watching videos of his goals.
She is Liga MX Femenil’s all-time leading scorer and the first player to score 150 goals, earning the nickname Katty "Killer."
