Palermo's first international tournament experience came with Brazil's U20 World Cup squad in 2016, five years before her senior national team debut.

Family support appears to be especially important to her; in a public post celebrating her journey, she specifically thanked her family alongside coaches and friends for helping her reach the top level of the game.

She has spoken about how strong dressing-room relationships help her perform, describing friendship and group unity as key factors in successful teams. Also saying that her adaptation at São Paulo as easier because she already had friendships with several players in the squad.

Palermo's performances for Palmeiras earned her the 2024 Paulistão Feminino award for Best Left Back, recognizing her as the standout player in her position across the competition.
