Julie Blakstad is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Tottenham and the national team of Norway.
Her dad is former norwergian football player Even Blakstad.
She studied industrial economics and technology management at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
When she played for Manchester City she was very close to her Swedish teammate Filippa Angeldahl. They used to go to training together and she said it reminded her of home.
Tottenham dismantled Aston Villa 7:3 on Sunday, 15 February. The scoring in the seven-goal thriller was opened by young Norwegian star Signe Gaupset, who netted her first goal in the WSL. She was not the only Norwegian to impress on the day.
On January 4, the Norwegian announced that she would not be wearing the Hammarby jersey next season, having moved there from Manchester City. At that moment, it was clear that her return to England was on the horizon.
Hammarby staged a thrilling 5–4 comeback to beat Metalist Kharkiv in the UEFA Women’s Champions League second qualifying round, sealed by a 94th-minute winner from substitute Cathinka Tandberg. Now they’ll face Manchester United in the all-Swedish “mini-final” in Stockholm on August 30, with a place in the third qualifying round—and a shot at the group stage—on the line.
That was a blast! Stockholm's Hammarby, who played in the last edition of the Champions League, are heading to the top of the table ahead of Malmö FF. Friday's win helped them do it, when they crushed the last team in the table 7-0 on home soil. Ellen Wangerheim, a fresh addition to the national team, contributed a goal and an assist. Julie Blakstad, who came from Manchester City last season, scored 4 goals.
