Tuana Shahnis Cindy Mahmoud is a German-Turkish football player who plays as a forward for Frauen-Bundesliga club Werder Bremen.
In 4th grade, she joined the boys during recess football, impressed her teacher, and ended up in a club — TSV Abbehausen — soon after.
With Werder since age 14, she progressed through youth and second team.
She’s considered a homegrown success story, having grown up in the Bremen region and worked her way up through the local youth system.
In 2023, she got married and took the surname Mahmoud, changing her name from Tuana Keles to Tuana Mahmoud.
She has a cat named Mila.
In training, she loves small-sided games, especially intense 4v4 drills.
She’s studying alongside her football career — because, as she says, women’s football still doesn’t guarantee long-term financial security.
She likes to cook in Thermomix, especially meals like rice with chicken and veggies.
After training, she and her husband unwind with shows or football videos.
She likes to play FIFA and Fortnite.
