Michaela Brandenburg is a German professional footballer who plays as a defender for Frauen-Bundesliga club Werder Bremen.
She took part in Werder’s “Score goals, plant trees” campaign, helping the team plant 50 trees in Bremen through league goals.
She started playing football in 2006, at 8 years old.
She made her 2nd Bundesliga debut at the age of 14.
Though mainly part of Wolfsburg II, she played one match for Wolfsburg’s first team — a DFB-Pokal win (5–1) against her former club, Holstein Kiel.
At age 4, Michaela was diagnosed with a moderate hearing difficulty and uses hearing aids. She manages well and says the most important things always get through.
Growing up in Kiel, she spent a lot of time on sailboats and enjoys all kinds of water sports during the summer.
She likes racing video games.
She likes cross country skiing in the winter.
