Lina Hausicke is a German footballer who plays as a midfielder for Frauen-Bundesliga club Werder Bremen which she also captains.
She suffered an ACL injury in Feb 2024, sidelining her for nearly a year.
She has a twin brother Michel who also played football.
She used to be a handball pivot player and also competed as a sprinter in track and field.
At just 15 years old, she was named captain of the U17 team at FF USV Jena.
She studied at the GuthsMuths Sports Gymnasium in Jena, an elite school for young football talents in Germany.
She played her first German Bundesliga match on April 21, 2014, at just 16 years old.
After being relegated with Werder Bremen in 2019, she helped the team bounce back to the Bundesliga in 2020.
In 2013, she was named “Young Athlete of the Year” in the city of Jena.
Before joining a women’s club, she trained and competed with boys’ teams – which shaped her skills early on.
Thanks to trainee program at the Bremen club, she’s already gaining experience in various departments and hopes to continue working there post-career.
She’s completed a Bachelor’s degree in Sports and Geography Pedagogy.
On her days off, she enjoys going out for coffee and riding her bike.
