Annabella Madeleine Bixby (née Geist) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for Portland Thorns FC of the National Women's Soccer League.
She was a multi-sport athlete during her youth, participating in softball, basketball, track, and even serving as a football kicker in high school.
Drafted by Portland Thorns FC in 2018, Bixby has become the longest-tenured player on the roster.
In December 2018, Bixby married her high school and college boyfriend, Elliot Bixby.
She gave birth to her first daughter in July 2024. She returned to play in 2025.
Since 2022, Bixby has been serving as the head coach for the girls' varsity soccer team at her alma mater, Rex Putnam High School, alongside her husband.
While playing professionally, Bixby was also pursuing a master's degree in fish and wildlife administration at Oregon State University.
She has been open about her mental health journey, particularly following the death of her father by suicide in November 2021. She has shared her experiences to encourage others to seek help and has advocated for suicide prevention.
She has publicly shared that she is on the autism spectrum, contributing to greater awareness and representation in sports.
She and her husband have five pets.
In 2023, she became just the second goalkeeper in NWSL history to score a goal, tying a match in stoppage time.
Early in her NWSL career, she drove for Uber to help make ends meet.
