Mackenzie Kay Wood is an American professional football player who plays as a goalkeeper for Chicago Stars FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). She played college football for the Northwestern Wildcats and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
She holds degrees in statistics and communication studies from Northwestern.
She transferred to Notre Dame for a fifth year, where she earned a master’s in sports analytics and pursued another in data science.
She has aspirations to work in sports analytics for the NHL or NBA.
She first fell in love with the game at age 7, playing at school and coming home with dirt-stained jeans.
She helped lead her high school football team to a state championship in 2017 and a runner-up finish in 2015.
As a freshman at Northwestern, she helped set a program-record shutout streak of 668 minutes and 42 seconds.
