Linda Brigitta Sembrant is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a defender for AIK in Sweden’s top division, the Damallsvenskan and the Sweden national team.
Linda was born in Uppsala, Sweden.
She began her youth career with local clubs SK Servia, Upsala IF and Bälingetrollen before entering senior football.
She promotes Ronald McDonald House charity initiatives, representing the organisation publicly.
Sembrant earned her first senior cap for Sweden in February 2008 and went on to make over 150 appearances for the national team, scoring 19 goals.
She won bronze medals at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2011, 2019 and 2023 with Sweden.
Sembrant was part of the Sweden squad that won silver at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
After her initial spell at AIK, she played for Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC, Tyresö FF, Montpellier, Juventus, and Bayern Munich before returning to AIK in 2025.
Sembrant has captained teams at club and international level and is widely respected for her experience and leadership.
Linda announced her retirement from international football in late 2025 after a distinguished national team career, earning 160 caps.
Following Magdalena Eriksson, another stalwart of the Swedish national team has ended her career.
